Is anyone going to Ofest next week in NJ?
I think I saw Doug D name.

Driving my coupe from Atlanta.
Last road trip before winter tear down and body repair and paint.
Going to Roanoke to N&W train museum on way to West Point area of NY to visit cousin over weekend then to NJ Sunday evening for start of Ofest.

Yes, I'm going, but I'm taking my Z8 since I drove the coupe up to Lime Rock. I'll be there Monday and Tuesday, heading back home on Wednesday.

Unfortunately I can't go, if I did it would be for the Concours and car show. My wife is traveling that week. My weekends are filling up to make up for it. If my plans change I'll let everyone know, I need a man Friday to help with the estate so I can play with cars. ;-)

Please post copious photos.

Doug, guess you're only coming for the Concours?
Sorry you can't make it Andrew.

It really is a fun week.

I am doing the TSD rally, the autocross and the "vintage" track day they started this year.
Hopefully won't break anything.

Got a 2nd at the autocross last year in my class of 2. Lol.

Thursday night they are having a 20's Flapper style party.
We rented costumes so should be a fun night.

Trying to make it, to O'Fest now...peer pressure...

Trying to make the Concours happen, drive down, spend 2 nights drive home. Vern will be in the shop, so it looks like Athena is the car to take. Succumbing to peer pressure, Gary.

Thanks a lot

Wow, Andrew wasn't trying to put the pressure on.

Love to have you come down though.

I just looked at entries in the Concours and there are 2 coupes signed up.

One is Scott Hughes CSL

Hughes, Scott 1973 BMW Classic-Antique-Vintage 3.0CSL Vintage/Classic CL

and the other is this car.

Soccolich, Len 1974 BMW Classic-Antique-Vintage 3.0CS Concours Original

So two different classes.

This is a 3200 CS.
Don't know this guy but a rare car.

Whalen, Kevin 1965 BMW Classic-Antique-Vintage 3200CS Vintage/Classic CL

If you go here and look in the schedule for the Concours on Tuesday you can see who is entered.
http://ofest.bmwcca.org/schedule

Only 27 cars so far to be judged. Very low number of entries.
Some wait till the last minute.

79 in display only, including my coupe.

Registered Athena

I was joking a bit Gary, getting it from several friends who are going, yet needed to be coaxed, found a house sitter so I can attend, while Cindy's in VT. ;-)

Heading down Monday after I drop off Vern at the shop for some repairs and tweaks. Athena will love all the attention she's getting over the next week. Trip to VSR, The Boston Cup & O'Fest, hope it's as much fun as The Vintage in NC.

Looking forward to seeing friends and talking BMWs, it never gets old.

Staying at a Best Western near the host hotel, with very reasonable rates.

Hi All,

I'm registered for Tuesday's Concours ('74 Concours Original). Planning to drive down from North Jersey Monday evening if all goes well in terms of my work schedule. Why they have a Concours on a weekday is really beyond me...

Yes Len I saw you registered.
I am helping with the Concours so will try to talk to you.

Concours on a week day is only 1/5 of the Ofest event.
There is a rally, a gymkhana, an autocross, a fun DIY rally, many instructional classes and of course driving on a race track.
We are going to the Simeone Museum on Wed.
Every night but one there is a dinner and of course the Spaten Beer Garden every afternoon and evening.
Good beer!
Good fun...........

Ofest

LouAnn and I will be there.I hope to do an informal Concour info session
At 11:00 on Monday,LouAnn is in the golf tournament. We are judging on Tuesday and going to the Simeone museum on Wednesday.shoud be a great week.

No worries. Just a bit frustrated that I may not make it! I realize its a multi=day event, but Concours are usually held on weekends. Looking forward to meeting you!

Are you entering the M3 in the Judged division?
I just saw it in display only.
Very few cars being judged this year.

We are going to Simeone as well.

The Simeone museum is great.

My take on the dwindling concours entrants, having entered mine at Birmingham a few years ago (Gary, remember the 528 next to mine with the q-tips pointing to the dead fly on the parcel shelf?) is that it is a only a clean car contest, no provisions for originality or correctness, so imho time is better spent chatting and pounding Spaten in the display area. Especially if you drive a long way to get there.

Keep us posted on who wins the Parker Spooner award!
