I was going to post this one last night. We've covered it before and I couldn't find the original ad...

Outrageous pricing.
Consider the asking price in the title $1.00
Deception always starts early.

Seems steep! Or is this a fair price?

As others have written, the asking price is pretty ambitious. The seller is abandoning his project at the absolute worst point - when his car is disassembled and not driveable. No doubt he has $30K - perhaps more than $30K - invested, but there is no law that says you can't lose money on classic cars.

With so many parts in boxes and the original drive train gone it's tough for a prospective buyer to assess what parts are missing. A buyer can't do a road test and get a sense for the condition of the engine, gearbox, brakes, steering, etc. And just moving a disassembled car is a headache - how do you transport that loose engine? All these factors discount the price of a car in this condition.

I totally agree. Funny I was just scoping out an e24 add this morning. M106. turbo swap that doesn't run, car is in pieces. I am buying an e24 for the seats, seat belts, brakes, and a few other things. A cool engine and five speed would be a bonus. However, He wants $5K. My initial thought was $1K. I can't think of anything worse than inheriting an incomplete engine swap.
