WTB: Headlight Covers

Reproductions?

I'm looking into making reproductions since the OEM ones are pretty pricey for what they are. They will be metal in primer, probably steel, but maybe aluminum since that will be easier to stamp. The price should be reasonable.

I have several parts I'm looking into reproducing. Please let me know if there is something else you need that you can't find.

Headlight Covers Acquired!

Was able to locate a set in Germany. I believe the gaskets and screws are still available through BMW.

sorry, i hit the button twice - so i deleted the first one. i guess i gotta quit drinking wine + reading e9coupe

good luck on the white screws - as far as i know, i bought the last ones available from Penske almost 2 years ago - they said the were NLA, Lisa called me the next day and told me she found 6 of them. they did a search nationwide to see if there were any others - came back with a zero stock in the US + Germany and a NLA from BMW.

i'm sure you may find an enthusiast with a little stock - perhaps Carl Nelson, Coupeking, Mario or Korman ... but i don't think so. as i remember, i tried that after Penske gave me the bad news - and nobody had any or wouldn't part with them.

We're working on the light cover screws; Ian is doing the work, I had some originals and he took a couple and is trying to reproduce the screws with the translucent white knobs. There is actually allot of detail and I can't be sure of the result but with any luck we should have some exact reproductions. IF we are successful we'll have them available, can't say when yet-

Yes, getting it right is not a simple matter! The tail light lenses have taken over a year...
