On April 28th, 2006, thanks to Dan we went live in our current format, and we have had over 150,000 posts in the last ten years which I find amazing. Also, our ten year anniversary corresponds with BMW's 100th, what a coincidence! Where else can you find a more knowledgable, helpful and sometimes humorous community of like minded individuals? Some of the best friends I have made I would not have met without our forum either. Just something I was contemplating as I sit here and enjoy an IPA before dinner. Cheers everyone!

Chris

This forum is the best, I have made friends through here with the immediate common bond, look forward to meeting more members, and appreciate all the expert help that makes owning and maintaining these cars a comparative breeze.

I remember back in the 80's with my first coupe, communicating via the Registry took weeks/months to find a part or get advice, now it's immediate. Awesome. We have it good and I'll drink to that!

Yes! I found the first half of coupe ownership is getting a coupe, the second half are gurus like Harold and Don to work on these cars, and the third half is this board!

Happy Annyversary, should we have a small stand in Monterey, run a clinic on uploading pictures?

Internet forums such as this e9 forum have made interesting cars EVEN MORE interesting, as an enthusiast can now connect with similarly interested people not only in their nearby communities, but literally around the world. I've had dinner with members of a forum I was previously very active with in New Zealand, Australia, and Germany, as well as with citizens of about half a dozen other countries (including TX - ha) here in the USA.

My sincere thanks to Chris and Dan, as well as anyone else who helped originate this forum 10 years ago. And, another thanks to all who have nurtured it over this decade. Taking up a 'new marque' this past summer(well, new after a pause of 35 years) would have been very difficult for me without all the history (via search) and prompt assistance when I couldn't find a previous thread on this forum. My THANKS to all who participate here.

Maybe everyone who posts at least one item between now and the actual April anniversary should donate $10 in appreciation!!

Cheers,

Cheers! 8)

This is my favorite of the forums I frequent. It is and has been a fantastic resource for me from purchasing Athena in July 2011 to her complete restoration in 2016. For that I want to thank everyone who has helped through the years.

Many of you I'm glad to call friends, though I've only met a handful of members in person. BMWs have been a large part of my life since I was 8 and if it were't for BMWs I'd have many fewer friends. I can trace almost everyone back to the BMW CCA, 2002s, Coupes, E28s and E83 X3s among other BMWs. :D

What a great group and so many friends.

I can easily say that without this forum and it's very knowledgeable members owning a coupe as a DIY guy would be very difficult.
Thanks to so many that have helped. :D

I just asked Chris last night about a part that was hard to identify and we hope we have it right.
Thanks, Chris.

I have at least 5 coupe owner/friends that are going to Amelia in March and look forward to having dinner with them all. Make that 6 now that Chris is coming.

Dan & Chris

CHEERS to Dan and Chris for having the vision to create this board. And a toast to all you Coupe Owners and admirers. Life has gotten in my way from this e9 passion but I still really like reading and hearing about the ups and downs of owning our e9s and visiting this site.

The thanks go to Dan exclusively, he is the silent force behind e9coupe.com.

I appreciate the kind words. The only reason I would ever volunteer to administer a forum is because I know coupe owners make it easy. All things considered, we have very few problems on this site and it doesn't take all that much of my time.

Dan

Thanks Chris & Dan! Hip hip Hurray, Hip Hip Hurray! LOL.

Dan, also, thank you for setting up the E3 Registry and making us red headed step-children feel just as welcome. After all, we are faster than the rest of Ya'll. Sounds like a Pepsi challenge right?

No, I know many of your cars would smoke mine but all in good fun. No offense to you red heads either I hope. I quoted Arde down there because I think he was having a nip of an IPA as well.. I like that the board is the, "third half" of ownership. We knew what you meant. Thanks again, keep up the great work!!!!

Cheers everyone!

A heart felt thank you to all that have been making the entire E9 experience a great ride.

PS- I second Arde's motion for a pic posting clinic in Monterey. ;)

Three cheers for Chris and Dan. I have connected with a bunch of really great people through this forum, and appreciate all you guys do to keep this place up and running.

Next time we are in the same location, the IPAs (or whatever other beverages you may prefer) are on me.

Coupe ownership/operation/maintenance would be infinitely more difficult without the help of everyone on the site. It is just remarkable how much help everyone provides. Thanks everyone!
Anybody miss Art Wegweiser?
