Side grill question?

Need help in getting old chrome off. Mine is in a very bad shape it looks oxidize and lost it shine. How can i dissolve the chrome so i can repaint them. I saw in some youtube clips that they dip in cleaning fluids and the crome came off i dont know that really work or not. Can anyone who done this give me some pointer

Thx

I don't think there is anything that could dissolve chrome without also destroying the plastic underneath. I'd use increasing grades of sandpaper from 120 - 500 grit.

Hi Guys,

W&N delivered today and they are installed on the Cs.

Finally an upgrade I could do myself. Very happy with the result.

Hi Bo,

Thanks my friend.

Think all pre '74 E9's had chrome grills. Black not only for the grills but also for the wiper arms became standard on the later cars.
