Wasn't able to locate a prior discussion of this car. Anyone recall one?

Hmm, while I realize that eBay doesn't recognize E9 VINs, you'd think a knowledgeable owner would post it in the description. Also, seller joined eBay last week and has zero feedback. No information to contact regarding inspection, either.
I thought the same thing as you guys and just moved along and didn't post. For some reason Hemming's is jumping out. Those pictures look very familiar. I couldn't find a "completed listings" box or tab to click on Hemming's like eBay has. A search on e9coupe.com using Hemming's and 3.0 CSI 1972 didn't pull any discussions up on the car. So, kind of a mystery to me too. Weird that we all think we have seen it listed before. Without knowing too much about the car the bidding seems to be within range of condition.
I recall there was a discussion regarding the speaker pods and the gauge set on the dash wood.
And what about the odd rear reflectors when they went to the trouble to remove the fronts and install the clear trurn signal lenses?
It's a CSi, which NEVER had ANY side reflectors.
I dunno, maybe a US dealer installed them on the rear AND in the wrong location.
Dummy who repainted the car didn't bother to remove them.

Grey market imports were modified by importers, not dealers, so they would install them where they thought they belonged.
And I don't think we should criticize those who choose to keep them on their coupes, it's a personal preference. Same with big bumpers.

If they drilled and put reflectors on the roof, would you think that's OK?
It's the seller's car, but I think it was stupid to leave the reflectors on there IN THE WRONG PLACE and those gauges IN THE WOOD on the dash. And those awful speaker pods.

Hey hey take it easy.....just because it rains 300 days a year up there is no reason to get riled up over simple comments. It's nice and sunny here in Cali and all HBChris is saying is no need for all CAPS with something you disagree with when it is personal preference and/or dealer/importer installed.... They may have needed them to get smogged or federalized in the state it was imported into. We will try and blow some sunshine up your way.....
I can say this because I was stationed in Tacoma and lived in Seattle after for a while and boy did I get depressed not seeing the sun for months on end. Even jumping out of airplanes for a living. I don't care how long you have lived up there, one never gets used to the gloomy weather, especially when living in it with no roof over your head weeks on end, I still kept a good attitude. But when the sun shines, boy is it beautiful... I thought it was a Hemming's car... thanks for that!

Simmer down sunshine. As Chris pointed out the lights were probably installed by the importer that had the car federalized. In addition some states may require these lights to remain in place so it would pass the road inspection. To each is own but I'm sure someone had a reason.
Meh, people in Seattle aren't grumpy because of the rain. They are mad at all the tech bastards moving up here from the Bay Area, driving up the cost of real estate. Okay I may have fabricated that but CA is somehow to blame for any perceived grumpiness!
FWIW - I totally understand why someone would want to keep the reflectors for safety reasons. A 3" reflector looks much nicer than a t-boned e9.
I know it's funny, it's always the Californians.... not the most well liked bunch up there I know. That's why I like to joke about it myself. I caught a lot of flack for complaining a bit. But like I said, I also didn't have a roof over my head most of the time and best way to compare it is like living in a cold, jungle environment. It is evergreen up there for a reason, it does rain a lot. But like I said, boy is it nice when the sun comes out! It is a great area!
Driving my 02' on those Seattle hills though in the snow was a bit tricky. I just kept telling myself that I was a great rally car driver, if they could do it, I could do it. But no matter how great, going downhill on some of those steep roads with no chains, throw in some ice, well......looking back I think I get veeeeeery lucky!
Getting back to the cars, I also understand Teahead's frustration when people cut into beautiful dashes when you have a speaker cover right next to is to put the gauge cluster in if one so desires. It is kind of a shame. As far as side markers, I had an opportune time to get rid of mine during body and paint, but decided against it. (I realize his argument was more where they placed them and no, not the best spot). They do help of course at night when parked, etc. But mainly because they were original to the car (on mine, not a CSI, again, understand complaint) and I wanted to keep what was original that wasn't easily taken on or off. They don't fit that bill. Then someone on here mentioned how cool the blinkers looked having such a 70's feel and I said, yeah, you are right, that is cool. Not much I could have done there anyways, but I have really grown to love the design and look, bulbous blinkers and the side markers really don't stick out as much of you think. Ask anyone that doesn't really know these cars, they never mention that kind of stuff. Kind of like all that 60's sputnik home furniture, now it is super cool.
One last thing, tech is intruding everywhere and we have bigger problems than that in this country driving prices up. I'd look more to the federal reserve and their money printing, it is slowly killing everyone except the top earners, trust fund babies (even them a bit as weird as that sounds, a lot are on fixed income and bonds pay **** now, usually half their portfolio-ish). This is unprecedented as we all know. But there has been major tech in Seattle for as long as I can remember the word tech being a mainstream word, C-mon, Microsoft?????? Yellllow! Enjoy your summer, it's just beginning! We complain about all the pesky tourist soaking up our sun and parking spaces, but at least they are in bikini's this time of year! Cheers boys!
