Hi; Recently someone was looking for a 9 blade fan. Please PM me if you still need one.

Sorry to hijack, but are there other colored fans that would work? 9-blade?

Is it just aesthetics people want red?

Black is the replacement color and easy to get. Red is late 70's early 80's and is sought after by some (including me) for aesthetics since the original 5 blade fan is red.

Pictures, a little late. I re-framed my garage in the meantime. The sills hidden behind my workbench were dry rotted so badly that I could vacuum them up! Made demolition a snap.

Here's the fans I have had in the garage for years. I believe the early vs. late clutches are a straight swap. If I was doing a new water pump I certainly would avoid the original bolted fan clutch. My preference only.

$5.69
Hi;
This sounds like Black is cheaper than red. Specials on black at Auto Parts Train reg $53.00 now $4.41. Also Stylin Trucks has it for $5.69 reg. $51.00.

My 9-blade is likely a CS project leftover from when I did the motronic conversion. The other one is from an E12. Both on nails out of the sun in my garage.

What about red plastic paint?? I have two fans in my garage, originally red, but extremely faded. Found a red color very close to original and they look major good.

I'm not sure paint would hold up, to keep mine looking decent I have to degrease it once a month or so. If the car is driven. Doesn't take much for crap to accumulate on it.
