BMW PARTS SOUTH ATLANTA

That is how it started with Penske. One day the site just went down, never to return. Parts Manager at Penske said she had no say in it. Apparently somebody thought they weren't making enough money off of it.

When you track parts revenue, some guys are stuck to the draconian mantra of a 32% mark up from cost. You'll never sell parts online with that markup, but many owners and GM's think they can be profitable below that number.

Eventually, someone will complain about the net profitability, fingers will get pointed at the wholesale operation, and it goes bye bye.

Sad when it does, as if worked correctly, it helps guys like us, and adds incremental net profit to the dealer if the costs are contained.
