Here I am facing the challenge of some interior restoration-renewal of my 2800 CS.
While woods are not that bad, and in need of minor restoration or just polishing, I have some problems with the piece nr 8 in the scheme above. Maybe there is a chance to have a new frame to cover with leather? Maybe 3d printed?

About the center console, I have seen it is covered with kinda plastic...maybe if I have it leather covered could I have some problem with fitting, due to increased thickness? What do you think of covering with wrapping or water transfer printing with leather effect?

Hi Stefano,

For the cluster cover, check with floridabmx in the FS section. He had one listed just the other day, visible in the dropbox photos. I think another member was interested also based on the responses. There is a shop on Ebay that sells a leather cover for this as well. Regarding the center console, several forum members have covered their console sides with leather. I don't believe that fitment is an issue. I wouldn't mess around with water transfer printing. You or an upholstery shot can purchase leather textured vinyl.

3D printing isn't a good option for a number of reasons. The part is large and would cost a few hundred euros to print, even if it was hallow. You would also need to model the part or pay to have it done. Also, the part will get beat on by the sun and could run the risk of warping.

Thank you Markos! About center console, if other guys had this piece leather covered with success, I will do the same!
About the cluster cover, I have seen that there is a shop on Ebay selling the leather, but the problem is with the frame, because the foam is old and is failing all around, so that there are a lot of ugly "waves" :-(.
Hope the upholsterer will recover the situation and will do a good job, but he seemed to me rather sceptical about this.

i am not sure what piece are you referring to when you say center console
i have some experience with interior trim parts, but not sure which is the part that you are trying to improve repair

You are right, I try to explain better.
I am not referring to the very center part, the one with the gear lever. I am referring to the rest of the center console, that is the "two halves" walls that holds the front vent grilles.
Hope to have been clear enough (and my english, too :)).
