I am often lured into listings like this one. I'm not certain what "nearly rust free" and "whole new front end parts" really means. I suspect that if we could see behind the front fenders and rockers we'd find rust and rot commensurate with most project cars. This one is close enough to me (3 hours away) that I am tempted to run down there to learn more. But in reality, there are probably about a $1,000 worth of bits and pieces that I might gain and be upside down on the whole deal in the end. If it were clearly more solid, or had more parts accompanying it...

its a forum members, great guy, has more projects coupes too. amazed this thing is still for sale. whole new front end probably means new inner fenders. Lets be honest if this car was complete it wouldnt be $5500 haha.

I certainly didn't intend to poke holes (figuratively) in this listing. I tend to live in a nebulous that ebbs and flows between two extremes. Either the grass is always greener and any coupe, project or otherwise, has more going for it than mine (which is likely true). Or the other extreme is the reality that these chassis have rot issues, and even many of the "dry" examples would frighten us all if we could peek into the hidden crevices. $5k is an interesting price. Low enough, and yet high enough to make me wonder...

Looking more interesting all the time. Lets face it, purchase a $15-28K example and you may well find the need to dive in and do what this one needs but have overpaid from the get-go. This one is honest in showing you what you have to start with, but you can get in for a palatable entry fee. Not always possible to guarantee big score when purchasing a 45 year old automobile. If someone want a Coupe, has some space, tools, expertise enthusiasn, $$, time, well then, this could work. Happy it is no where near me, I must say! Mike

I'm a bit perplexed. It says it has a new front end (fenders, etc.). Yet, that looks like OLD insulation on those towers; and that paint doesn't look new to me.

"new" as in like...5 years ago and was left outside? Any pictures of the work done? I.e. BEFORE pictures?

Your absolutely right New maybe 5-10 years ago it was forgotten at a Body Shop and I think the owner passed away
so yes this is an Older Restoration

If anyone is interested I can Lower the price to $4000 but i will keep the Glass, Seats, and few other small parts
