In my restoration of a 3.0 CS, today I found out from the mechanic that the engine needs a complete head and crankshaft. Pistons and block are savable.

There is no old M30B3.0 engines around me but only a few M30B34 engines from e28 or e23 cars, so I may have to use M30B34 engine parts only.

From my research about the engine head, looks like I can use heads from 1983-88 M30b34 and not b35.

Can I safely use the crankshaft from M30B34 too ?

How about engine parts from a newer E32 BMW M30B30? Are they usable for me ?

I really like to keep original block.

You cannot use the M30b34 crankshaft; that engine had a different stroke than the M30b30. Not sure about the M30b34 head, but the e32 parts should be useable.
