16" closed lug Alpinas

There is a set of refinished open lug 16" Aplinas in Seattle for $2,500. He won't budge on price. He also has an unlisted set of vintage H&B's for $3K.

Last time I checked, Hardy and Beck was still offering their wheels. It looks to me like they manufacture the center and use BBS barrels.

Yeah i said that to him but his argument was that these were period correct. :) I think you can get a new set for around $3,300 or so. It's listed on the H&B site. Personally I think Weds look better than H&B's but the BBS motorsport halves are a big bonus.

Alloydirect closed caps with shipping is $2200 plus customs.

This is what I see when I go to alloywheelsdirect.com

Edit: I see that you're talking about the closed hub wheels now. Oops.

My plan is to get the closed lug ones without the covers and paint the centers black. Should be pretty close in appearance, and if I want to switch to covered lug look

I can add the center caps and conceal the black centers.

I did that with some Alpinas that I had. It looks good and the lip that holds on the face plate makes a good cutoff for painting.
