Just fitted a set of Cibie 40 driving lights.
Wired in the relay and am now wondering how to activate them.
I could just piggyback from the main beam feed but that would not give me any independant control over them.
Perhaps a switch in the lower dash or centre console?

Any suggestions greatfully received, with, if possible, pictures of past installations.
Many thanks
Simon.

I have mine triggered by the high beam wire (white?). I tapped then ran this wire to a switch on the steering column (previously used for an air horn by PO) so that I can turn them off when I don't want them to come on with the lights. I thought about being able to just activate them only by a switch, but I only use them with the high beams on so being able to dip them along with the high beams or cut them off entirely is more useful for me.

simon if you pay my photobooket quote you will have plenty of information,
there should be a marchal driving lights thread,...i recall
you can use a faston number 15 perpared for the purpose and use them as steve mentioned with highbeams

Sorry that means absolutely nothing to me! What is a photbook quote and how would I pay for it?

i appreciate your sense of humour, but photobucket asks me (and to the rest of the people that want to share their photos) 400 USD per year
it is not an insignificant ammount of geld ! (at least to me, but maybe your pockets are deeper tan mine´s)

as to the topic, there is a faston terminal 15 (unused ) in the cable loom that runs behind the battery, if you take that as a positive signal you can use it for activating a relay that will feed the lights
that terminal 15 is active when you switch on the high beams

hope this helps

Photobucket must have subscribed to the "do be evil" mode of commerce.

DeQ your threads are valuable enough that Forum members may indeed want to help make them useful/accessible again. Maybe a number of us could donate $10 or $20 to help you pay Photobucket. An idea could be that before a year's subscription is up, your threads could be printed as PDFs or otherwise saved outside of Photobucket and be permanently available. If this seems like an idea worth considering, I'd start a new thread making the suggestion... Paul

i will contribute. perhaps what we need to do is to get access for a year ... and then manually upload them to the forum.
