Any advice on removing the 3 little wood parts on the dash shelf?

Any advice on removing the 3 little wood parts on the dash shelf?
Someone suggested that you have to carefully break them off
I tried but the tenon brake off, that would be the weakest area
(you have to remove these to recover the shelf)

Assume you're referring to the three wood "separators" on the horizontal shelf, running front/back. They aren't complicated shapes, one could make replacements (with your own choice of wood).

And who would know or question such recreated bits? A contrasting/darker color would (pun intended) look nice IMHO. Make life easy and use soft and clear grain wood (pine, fir, or the like) and use stain for the color... The mind wanders... Purists may cringe, let 'em. I feel sawdust coming on...

OTOH you can use some "fancy" wood, here in Honolulu I'd go for koa just because I have it, but small bits of other woods might be available for the asking at a cabinet shop.

I think you can just wiggle them back and forth a bit until the glue separates. I can’t recall but they may have pins on the bottom.

No, no pins. The tenon at the base just glues into the slot in the plywood deck. If it is assembled with white wood glue, a heat gun won't do much. I like the "wiggle back and forth" suggestion.

Yes they are a tenon, a little tab, there is no wiggling them
If nothing else works, I think I can break them off and then replace the tenon

Have you tried wiggling them? Mine came out.

I did try wiggling, no give at all, the one I was trying to pull it out of is still stout
then I tapped it with a hammer, then a little more... then it was out...
