Wanted Petri steering wheel 380mm

My suggestion is to buy a 38cm Petri with E9 hub/ cover and horn button. I’m quite sure there are 2 currently available on German eBay (eBay.de) and have the grip rewrapped in leather.
That would be the quickest (and cheapest) method to achieve your goal.
To see the result of such a combination I’ve added a pic of a 38cm Petri with aftermarket leather wrap. Gorgeous!

In 7.5 years of present coupe ownership I've only seen 2 come available besides mine, one was from a member here, another on eBay Germany. Expensive. Do a saved search on eBay and maybe one will come up in the future. Meanwhile, Keshav's advice is solid.

Man, who did that wrap job! Very nice! Was that done to OEM specs?

Steve, post a picture of your leather one to compare to please!

That was done some years ago by the in-house Alpina steering wheel master, now retired. That was a private favour since they don’t wrap wheels for outside customers. What you don’t see is the subtle Alpina dark green thread.
Wheel now lives with a friend in Atlanta.
Another great shot of that wheel.
I was also the lucky guy who noticed Steve’s finding the, for sale csl Petri in Germany ad, which turned out to be the real deal. That was possibly the most spectacular find in all my years. Thanks to Steve!!

Your assumption is correct although hub, cover and hornring are from an E9
At a closer look, the horn ring isint fixed and maybe missing its base

Is this a VW wheel because it's dished and not flat?

1. This is not dished steering, spokes shape are 100% the same as in BMW 38 steering wheels. But you are right this is VW wheel, the only difference between BMW and VW is grip foam shape (imitatation of thread, in BMW was protruding, in VW thread is flat). BMW in their 38 wheels also had two types of spokes foam ending (1. Conical, 2. Rectangular, both are proper).
2. Horn contact ring is from E12, E21, E23, E24 and some later standard BMW steering wheels (different mounts but diameter is the same, and that part is still available for purchase at BMW).

p.s. The only Petri (Motorsport type) was dished, was size 40cm and it was mounted in AUDI.
