Not sure if W&N versions needs work where these would be much superior or not?

Well, they are surprisingly short. These just replace the part under the door.

However the part on the car which this is Intended to replace, extends further under the rear wing. It stretches all the way to the rear wheel well.

I'd choose the longer W&N part.

I understand that these are bmw original parts. Indeed the end can be welded, and hidden in (under) the seam of the rear panel.
However if that section under the door is in need for replacement, quite likely the bit under the rear wing is also in need of replacement.

Unless there is a dent. Or unless you are sure the bit to the rear is ok.

I've never seen a e9 where the bit under the door is bad, but the rest is ok.

But hey, never to old to learn .

In my case, the section beneath the rear wing was by far the worst part of my rocker panels.
