Is the braided textile hose still available from BMW ?..part #21521163714. The picture is shown on websites of ECS , FCPeuro et al , however, no guarantee that's the type I will get if ordered. The hose on Walloths is all rubber so I asked Albrecht if he could source the textile type from BMW and he said it's not available . Advice please . Cheers, Simon

so how many feet do we need? my coupe has everything removed ... so i can't go look at it to know + i would like to order the right amount

Spoke to Carl ( Westoz ) above and he has now been told by BMW that the hose he ordered is now deemed too old and will be "binned" . So back to square one. There als

Was the blue braided the correct OEM for the brake reservoir? I have a black braided on my car in the trunk for the fuel vapor tank. I assume that was stock for that area.

Pretty sure blue braided was correct. Be advised that it turns into black braided if you do a bunch of other work concurrently and don't keep your hands clean.

Very similar blue braided hose is/ was available from BAP. It is almost identical as the original for an early E24 and worth taking a look at. It is a lighter blue than shown in the picture, but has some very discreet color mixed in with it and nicely braided. This is the line that runs from the reservoir to the brake master cylinder.

I recently purchased braided brake hose from LaJolla. Carl Nelson shared that the US DOT has deeemed the braided blue hose to be non compliant due to a color technicality and only the grey/black iteration can be sold (legally) in the US.

My coupes are modified and I prefer the darker hose. As Ohmess shares, any work done may discolor the blue hose. I may have one to two feet, if someone needs it for a concours restoration.
