Look to see if anyone can post pictures and details on a working linkage setup for DCOE40 triple Webers with the Alpina intake setup. Specifically, I purchased the repro parts from Daddywad, and now just need to figure out how to set it up in a way that mounts and clears the intake box that sits on top.

Does Daddywad sell a reproduction linkage kit to go with his intake manifold and airbox? If not it seems like a good opportunity to earn An additional few hundred and offer a complete Alpina reproduction kit for DIY folks. As an owner of the real thing I continue to be a bit 50/50 on making exact replicas including the Brand name , but if Alpina doesn’t mind then this is a nice service to the E9 community.

Didn’t the Alpina box originally use Solex carbs? Anyway, I plan to use two balance levers, one with a ball for the vertical linkage. Take a look at @Stevehose ’s setup. He is using them. I don’t have the Alpina box and I’m still working on my linkage, but nothing really sticks up past the carb body.

Unfortunately not. His personal setup uses different carbs that do not need the top mounted connecting bar.

The original Alpina setup is that very low profile linkage rod sitting almost flush to the manifold. I suspect a standard weber linkage rod would work, possibly modified to drop it down a little lower, but would be good to hear from someone with first hand experience to be sure.

That could work. For some reason, I thought you had to have the long connecting rod for webers, but SteveHose's setup could work, and is pretyt much the same as Daddywad's.

I don't even know what an Alpina Box is, but here's a couple photos of what I've got, is

said to be Korman (I have the old paperwork from 2002)

That is the Korman manifold and linkage. I have that linkage also but I plan on using the balance levers as mentioned previously. The thing about using the balance levers is that you don't have to thread anything into the manifolds at all. The Korman linkage mounts to the Korman manifold. You can likely mount it to another manifold but you would need to ensure that the heim joints had the same thread. You can move the heims and the stops around on the shaft as needed to fit another manifold. Also, the Korman linkage is several hundred. I believe that Pierce has a linkage setup as well. The redline setup is flimsy junk.

Mario (VSR1) is familiar with the original Alpina setups and could probably put a lot together for you.

Will check with him, thanks.

For reference, here is the actual Alpina Setup. As can be seen, the connector rod is pretty low and tight to the manifold for clearance on the intake manifold.

And here is Daddywad's actual setup, with different carbs, and just connecting the balancing levers:

With that, is there any reason or advantage to having the connecting rod above? This is my first experience with setting up side draft webers, so excuse the lack of knowledge here.

Here is my Alpina linkage setup.
