I removed my original insulation that was in bad shape many years ago and I remember having to remove adhesive from the fire wall.

Finally just got a new replacement and was wondering how others have attached it other than just hanging it with the top clips. I was thinking maybe just a few strategically placed dabs of weatherstripping sealant?

Also just realized I will need to disconnect the A/C lines.

Reviving this older but good thread... what did you end up doing @DWMBMW?
Is there a consensus? Does that piece of insulation need to be glued? I imagine it does, otherwise I can't see it doing much of anything just hanging there. Wurth contact glue? 3M spray glue?

Bo, I applied various line beads and dabs of 3M weatherstripping adhesive on the back of insulation.

My car does not have this insulation at all, in fact it has no insulation under the hood. Can it be fitted with everything else still installed?
I assume that several parts would need to be removed, but I have nothing to compare it with.
I don’t have AC.
Can the other insulations be fitted without too much being removed? If so I might go and buy a few of these items before cooking every time I drive it.
Thank you.

Very much appreciated!!!!

Check out cs-Werke.

I bought that one from cs-week was really disappointed. It was very flimsy and the adhesive on the back came off within a month, leaving nasty residue on the upper firewall. I then bought the real Bmw one which is currently sold by Walloth Nesch And it became very apparent that you get what you pay for.
