Has anyone ever seen a luggage rack on an E9 or 2000CS coupe?

At least half a dozen companies were selling aftermarket trunk racks in the 60s/70s. Vilem B Haan, MG Mitten, Moss Motors, Amco and others. The one pictured is one of those and would look good on an Austin Healy, MGA or TR-3A but not on a coupe, it’s too small and isn’t needed as the coupe has a large trunk.

with such a large trunk on an e9 coupe ... why o why would you put one on the trunk of a coupe? looks like a treasure trove of coupe parts - taillights (multiple sets), doors / sheetmetal + trim. how good they are would require a little investigation + cleaning

Looks more like a shoe rack than a luggage rack.

Well, I guess I've seen one now (at least in pictures).

But seriously, as others have written, that little rack just looks silly on an e9 trunk lid - it's better sized for an MGA or Sprite. It probably has some value to people who restore early British sports cars, but not so much to the e9 community.

Had one on my TR6.

I made a custom, wooden slat roof rack for my E9 because i always pack too much stuff....

I guess sending that photo was a mistake. I was planning on installing it on the CSL I just inherited.
Maybe I should think twice e before I drill the 4 holes.Actually I considered crazy glue also.
Thanks guys for your opinions.

CSL you say? I would try using magnets.

You could always do the 'ol suction cups and straps. Period correct even. :D
