In front of Grom ice cream in Malibu, saw this 73 for sale. I did not spend too much time inspecting lest my ice cream would melt. Passenger door is pretty rusty but otherwise solid. Paint is burned by the CA sun, not a garage queen...

I called the guy and am trying to work something out. It's a 4 speed. Rough interior. Some rust but runs strong. Double Webers. Thanks for posting!

Finder's fees are an Affogato at Groms.

I always like rough coupes with newish tires, Michelins. Means driving is more important than looks...

Yep, but doors can be replaced without welding... I looked around and the rest of the car had none of that.

Keep dinging my find and I will lose an Affogato...

That door top looks kinda scary.

$21.5K for a complete, running coupe sounds like a heck of a deal. And yes, doors can be replaced without welding (though depending on your quality standards, some painting may be necessary). Still, it would be incredible if its doors could be this bad while the rest of the body was OK.

The car will need a full repaint, so a new door is easy to slide into the project.

Why just one door is rusty? Because rust is lazy and would rather progress on the metal it already lives than jump over an abyss to settle into another disjoint surface... It probaly started with water getting into the door or some ex-girlfriend throwing acid at the door.

Still working on it. Here are some pics. Apparently it is owned by a Los Angeles TV producer and was used in 90210 many years ago. I don't have the VIN yet.

Pretty crusty but he says it runs strong so I'd just drive it as is. The shock towers look good from what you can see from the top.

Really! Waxing poetic and hopeful over this car at $21.5. Have the rotisserie ready. And I don't claim to know much about our cars, only what I see.
