Well, she's just home from paint. We modified an E24 front air dam and added it. Next, going to rebuild the webers - then she's again off for interior restoration. Would enjoy hearing from anyone with suggestions on rubber for doors/Windows and wood kits

W&N doesn't have "all the rubber" and it can for sure go wrong with their rubber/seals.

Appreciate it gents. didn’t do a frame off - but did take her down to metal - and just some oxidation - very light - on rear deck - but (zero) rust throughout the whole car. thx california. so this is one i’m going to drive a lot and just enjoy for now - fully restore before i kick off (i hope). thx again ✌

Will you be replacing the dash wood, or just the doors and sides? If you are doing the dash, you may regret not doing it while the windshield was out (assuming your glass was out for the repaint).

tyvm. i left glass in for this paint job - will pull windshield and replace seal when i redo dash (in the full / final resto) but for now i just want to enjoy driving her) do think ill take a shot at refinishing wood after looking closer

Restoring the wood in-place would be beyond my technical skills. The veneer is quite thin; I tried sanding my dash wood and ended up going right through the veneer. So stick to steel wool or something similarly mild if you work in-situ.
Removing and replacing the wood on the door and rear panels is pretty simple. If the underlying wood structure is OK, then new veneer can be applied.
My dash had a lot of dry rot, so the replacement pieces from Madera were essential. But disassembling and reassembling the dash isn't for the faint of heart, so your plan to postpone it in favor of driving the car makes sense to me.

Wow, your combo looks very much like my E9 - is this Nachtblau with Lotus? I've also been thinking about a lower air dam after I damaged the original a few years ago at Monterey. My first choice is an Alpina style but keeping the front bumper.
Absolutely love this. Would love more details on how you modified the E24 airdam. Despite some perhaps calling blasphemy, I was considering repainting my Baikal in Polaris (needs paint no matter what), but this color may have me swayed. Is this Nachtblau as E9Wayne pointed out? Not always easy to tell with how different colors look on different screens...
thank you and yes - Bmw code#40 Nachtblau - just liked the lines and style of the e24 air dam - we had to split it and take out 2.5-inches side to side and about 3-inches top to bottom to custom fit it but i think it works
while writing has anyone refinished a steering wheel-nardi etc (here’s my momo) - thinking i can strip- sand and stain a dark mahogany to match wood and seal with a urethane ??? need to rebuild weber’s and will defo have some ?s in advance there ✌
