Mario, have you considered trying to use the duct from a bavaria? the piece is the same as the one in the drawing (which is different than the piece on a coupe ... it has the side ducts that go out the side vents. i would imagine that you could blank these off.

I do, but i have it to try to upgrade the a/c in my coupe ... adding side vents or additional vents. they have to be more available than the ones for a coupe. i will reach out to somebody who might have one and get back to you.

Hi Mario- I have a couple of them from the Bavaria. If you can confirm that the part number is identical I will pull one for you-

From the pics above, are the openings front and back similar size or identical in size? not opposed to making it fit from a Bavaria and sharing how if it gives us additional air flow
Thanks!!!

Hey Mario, the 2 ducts are very close, but not quite the exact same. Here are some more photos. You should note that the large rectangular opening is the same on both the E3 and the E9 duct. This sits on the top of the evaporator, and the evaporators are the same. The E3 one has those extra round openings that send air to the dashboard ends, and in an E9, would not attach to anything, unless you want to customize a new and separate direction of air somewhere to the footwell perhaps. But can be easily blocked off. there is a small size discrepancy as you can see in one image. Don't know if some adjustment can make everything mate up or not, but worst case, I am sure if an "extension" is required, something could be made to fit. Hope this helps, Mike

I have an unlimited supply of this one. If you aren’t having any luck and want to be a $300 guinea pig just let me know.

If you are willing to print one and compare to the original, I will send you the (slightly damaged) original to keep. I will use your measurements to fix the model, and publish the model for free. After that there will never be another shortage of reproductions, but they are expensive to print.

No idea Alan. I sent a modeler my duct and paid to have it drawn three dimensionally. I think that most non-architects will have a very hard time making this with a 2D drawing. Fortunately half of all e9 owners are architects. :D

Not sure what you mean. If you are referring to the circular ducts, then no. Those are only for e3’s, which have forward facing heater vents on the dash face. I make e9 parts, if they fit and e3 that’s great.
