I know. Something square attached that emits heat, so they drilled those perforations? Or the attachment created the perforations? Amplifier? Old cell phone base?
Bad aim?
I think this is the most logical.
A small speaker was mounted in the glove box, perforations are for sound, you can still see the square indentation of the speaker grille I think.
