Hi,
Has anyone ordered the headlining from KHM? The picture looks good!
I had bought carpet sets, that were good, but hadn't seen the headliner till recently.
Apparently they only sell the the kit and won't give you extra material to do the header and visors.

Hi Merdad,
you might want to get intouch with SMS Autofabrics ([email protected]) who also have a white headliner which has been discussed here. As I recall, the sms headliner is closer to the original than the KHM type. They will also send you a sample and since they sell just the material (no kit I believe) you could order more so as to cover the sun visors/ sunroof etc.
Heres a pic of the black CSL headliner which is the closest I’ve seen to the original. You could also get in touch with @aearch who has the white sms headliner and ask him for a few pics..

I have the SMS material and was working on this today. The person doing my headliner said "SMS has all the stuff the others don't but their customer service can be off". Others here have had some delays in getting their material, I got my material without a hitch, was 70 bucks. My guy said it will take him 3 hours at most to make a new headliner. Mind you, I have an electric sunroof with that zipper built in. Not having the molded portion redone, going to match the color with SEM vinyl paint. He agreed that the SMS and original were close enough that not doing the molded front portion over but doing the SEM, nobody will notice (but me of course!). I do thank @aearch for guiding me in this direction.

Why wouldn't you want the molded person redone as well?

if you have an electric sunroof ... there is the joy of the zipper. matching the zipper as well as the idea of removing the vinyl and the zipper ... without damaging the header.

YEA I HAD MY ZIPPER SEWN IN BEFORE HAND
THE GUY DIDNT FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS AND SETA SEAM ALL THE WAY ACROSS
YET ITS OK TO LIVE WITH

The visor clips are socked in. Despite trying everything, they are not moving and I already chipped up one of them. Besides, my molded portion and covering are in decent shape, no rips. Also, I can do a dry run and if it doesn't meet my standards, then I can still redo it. I have enough material just in case.

Doug at SMS sent me this photo of the white headliner. $79/yard.

I am even thinking of buying a few meters now, just incase.

The perforations are slightly smaller than the original but the design/texture is almost dead on.

BTW, aearch had said the liner is thick and getting the drip edge molding to fit is a challenge. The guy doing my headliner wants to keep as is for now. He also is mobile, meaning he will come to the house and we will do the fitting together since my car is not driveable. He says he does more on-site headliners than come to his shop. Quite convenient. Just charges for travel time and I will get to learn............................
