I have a 3.5L engine in my E3 and I have the water heated choke assemblies on Zeniths. The 3.5L block doesn't have a return port for the water line so I need to add it somewhere. What have others done? Do you just tap into another hose with a "T" fitting?

Very clear where it goes

Is there an alternative? I get drilling and tapping is the best thing to do (although I don't like the idea of metal shavings in the block), but I was hoping not to take the carbs/manifolds off again. I know it's faster the FIFTH time! But you know what I mean...

Change in plans. I've decided to get some Weber's with electric chokes. I don't really want the Zenith's anyway.

@sfdon What's your process for checking how well the distributor is working. My gut tells me part of the poor running problem might be ignition.

I’m sort of in the same position only I already have Webers (32/36). I’m still collecting parts but I opted to convert them to electric choke. What I’m worried about is at what point does that temp sensor under the front intake activate the relay turning off the choke?
I was interested in this question, though. I personally would hate to go through the trouble of drilling and tapping the block only to then be inspired by the b35 to install triple Webers.
Will you go with 38/38’s?

One way is to aim a timing light at the flywheel viewing hole and adjusting the advance on the light until you pick up one of the timing balls. Then you can see if it is steady or is bouncing around at idle. You can also check your mechanical advance curve by plotting the curve at 500 rpm intervals from idle up to 3500 rpm using the timing light.
