Well, its gotta come out and his turnaround is fast. Hope you are not captive to a guy similar to the one in my town who says I know you can get it for 2 bucks but I can't wait, I have a business. I can get it for 300 today and that includes my markup. Hence, I do my own repairs.
Jay has my steering box right now and has done the pump as well, pretty quick turn around. The later pumps use a different bracket.
I keep Jays pumps in stock- he does great work.
Looking in the parts book it seems the 74 takes its belt from the crank and not the water pump so belt is shorter and brackets for pump changed. Crank pulley may also be different. Pump is the same.

Front and rear brackets are different for after 10/73
early went out on slots, late went down on slots
early went out on slots, late went down on slots
belt now comes from crank
I will have the current unit rebuilt regardless. If I can find a working part, it would expedite the process.
Thanks @bavbob, @sfdon and @HB Chris for the recommendation. I'll use Jay to rebuild the unit as a spare if nothing else. And I appreciate the '74 specific knowledge about the brackets. Actually, since I know virtually nothing about the '74 or other year CS's, I appreciate any and all info about them!
Speaking of belts, I think I'll have another glass. .
But actually I couldn't find a list of all the drive belts on the forum. Is there such a list?
As if the unique AC brackets on a '74 weren't enough, the PSP brackets are unique to that year also? Jeez Louise...
Online parts catalog (realoem.com) is your friend. I Use it to study part number differences between production years when I’m looking for parts or sometimes just for fun).
I guess it’s easier to ask here. But I like knowing I can find answers myself.
Knowing what I know now about E9’s, I shoulda bought one with a late summer 1973 production date. But if your car is otherwise good, the 74 and later can be modified to be almost as good.
