Very early versions, The number is OK IIRC. The Alpina inscription should be raised rather then engraved, and again from memory there should be a dat3 stamp on the back side and a Ronal makers label

Yes they are on German eBay
But as the ad says they are for refurbishment only. So I think they will need some (expensive) TLC from some expert wheel people.

There's a set on uk eBay right now, been hanging around for ages. I've not contacted the seller, so can't vouch for originality or anything, but there's plenty of expertise on here to check them out. It was the price that put me off, as they're not factory fresh and need work

Thanks! Yes those look very expensive for a set of beat up alpina's. The devil is in the details and the details look pretty severe. Thanks for the find though! If you see any more feel free to DM me directly. :-)

I suspect they are not Alpinas. I suggest they are the 7x14 FPS lookalikes

Ah yes, I was ignoring the random 5th wheel, as an odd one out, and not priced in the £1850. The seller seems to think the tyres are worth something also, hohoho!
If they're a matched set of date stamps, I think 1200-1400 might be ok?

I bought four two years ago for the ultra lightweight, they were restored but not well, I had to strip the centers and repaint, it was too thick. $2500 shipped from Europe.

I got mine for 1,000€. Shipping was another 500€ from Italy (five wheels). I then spent $900 refinishing them in CA and shipping back to Seattle. Unless you are in Europe there doesn’t seem to be a cheap way to arrive at a nice set.

If I was forced to sell them domestically, the price would reflect the absolute rarity, matching/early dates, the stress of lost UPS boxes, and back and forth with the refinisher, and the help of my friends. Meanwhile, polished BBS are listing for $4K on mye28 and someone will likely pay up.
