Help with E9 Shut Seal

Hi E9rs,

I am about to purchase the left and right door shut seals for the E9 from Oldtimer.de.
However, i noticed a couple of things that i think i need to clarify peior to parting with
my extremely hard earned £'s.

1. I was looking at the description provided by oldtimer, and it states that it fits an E9 2000. Is that an identical fitment for the 3.0 csi.
It may sound obvious, but there may be slight differences, or improvements from 2000 to 3.0.???

2. Whats brought the difference it to my attention is the Oldtrimer.de fitment is also different in look..ie:
Most other diagrams show the Shut Seal in three sedctions, whereas the Oldtimer shut seal is in two pieces.

It may or may not matter, but i need to be certain or near enough, as it has to be a secure and tight fit around there,
and the slightest difference could result in a lousy insecure fit as opposed to a almost perfect smooth fit.

Has anyone bought that fitment.

Not familiar with that source but walloth nesch is one piece, I recall it looked like two pieces glued together. Maybe your source saves you money by making you glue it?

Same part numbers for 2000CS and the e9. Only one part number for each side but it is actually two pieces with that piece that joins in the middle at base of windshield.

Hi Thomas,
I see your point. I'm guessing that that 3rd small part fits on the shoulder near where the rear window and the door join, and is the connector between the 1st & 2nd parts.

Got mine from there, no issue. One part runs rear window, down, across threshold and up to dash edge. Single foam part joins it to the gasket that runs along the drip edge and then down the A pillar to meet at the dash edge. Single foam piece is glued to both. He just has it attached to one part already.

Just received the Door Shut Seal from Oldtrimer.de, and its like youy said. Perfect.

I wasn't there but they said that they found it hard to fit exactly, and hard to make the doors shut flat.
Its new rubber so it does require some adjustment, i guess.
My guy told me that it will be easier over time, and to keep the door shut as much
as possible.

Will send you pictures when i go to the garage next week.
 
I have a 72 E9, my brother has a 2000 CS, I installed the WN parts in my car, all 3 are very slightly different
Quite a bit of 'adjustment' before deciding where to glue them down
