Hi E9ers,

Just seen these Alpina's ( apparently ) for sale.
Just took a couple of print shots to ask if they are the real deal.

I remember ( but cant find ) the posts and discussions about Alpinas....Depth, Serial numbers etc.

They are genuine. The offset is high and setup more for an e36 however. They are ET40, which means the will have about a 1” lip instead of 2”+.

Excuse my ignorance as I am not from an engineering and I’m inexperienced with regards to wheel configs etc.
Does the ET40 sit well on an E9?,
and if not what type should I be looking for.. I’ve been looking around and had plenty of conv’s on this...but still none the wiser.

I had that backwards actually. The front wheels could rub the struts. Factory wheels are 7” ET11. ET40 is 29mm closer to the strut (more than 1” or 25.4mm). Then the wheel is .5” wider, or 1/4” on each side. So the wheel will be about 1 3/8” closer to the strut. Too much IMO.

John you could always fit spacers. A 15/20mm spacer would work. Tyre wise no idea what'd be equivalent off the top of my head but something like a 205/60/15 could do the trick

A 205/60x15 tyre will give you a rolling radius of 627mm, which is 0.26% less than the standard 195/70x14 tyre's 628.6mm measurement. Basically anything within 1% is good.

The issue with these wheels is that they're from an E36. Apart from the fitment issues that everybody else has highlighted, they just wouldn't look right on your car.

A 20mm spacer will require longer wheel studs.

All around not worth the headache for funny looking/fitting alpinas.

This is what they look like:

Here is what a staggered 16” set looks like. Note my earlier comments about the lip depth.
