Looks like the coupe version of the Alpina extra fuel tank.

Looks nice. No underside pics though.

Me? I am intrigued by the tow hitch just behind the boot catch. What is that all about? John.
Good pick-up. You'd think that extra loop would interfere with the underside of the deck lid. That one photo of the trunk is the anomaly - the rest of the car looks pretty normal, but it's as if some madman got hold of the trunk.

Notice all the upholstery work in the trunk: well-executed, but completely non-original. Even the filler neck for that extra tank has been neatly covered with stitched vinyl.

Is that rear plate euro to US mounting bracket a BMW part or homemade? I'm looking for a good solution for that.

I have the front piece and it does look like it but it's not the same piece.

You would think a reputable seller would explain what is hiding behind door number 3 in the trunk.
The stock fuel tank looks to be in place. Auxiliary tank in the trunk for those long drives? Filling up both tanks should lower the rear to normal height. Would kind of serve as a rudimentary fuel gauge. “Hey, the rear end is high time to fill up.”
Other than that it’s got a lot going for it.

Seller's reply....
An auxiliary/additional 15 gallon (I believe) gas tank installed by the first owner for those extra long drives. Kinda cool,
