E9’s are selling like Hotcakes on BAT 73 with 5 speed

Hate it when someone uses a rattle can to make the undercarriage components look better. are people really fooled by the silver painted tie rod boots?

Funky opening mechanism of the hood...

does anyone know if this is original glass?
it reads "Duro Glass -F" and some other small letters. ( Just interested to know what is original or not to get it correct for my own car. )

The word "Scruffy" comes to mind. At least the seller took detailed pictures. Also, a Fla car w Virginia plates?

The seats were painted with a brush? Replaced in 2005? Wow, after looking at all the pics this coupe is a mess. The VIN is two before mine.

The seller is on the e9 lover’s Facebook page. Also owns a nice chomonix e3.
This e9 appears to be well sorted mechanically. Triple Weber’s, rebuilt motor, five speed, looks like a great driver.

Yes he said he was going to list it. Hope he does well. If I got the car I would just drive it. Don’t tear it apart.

Can't say I'm a fan of black coupes when there are so many interesting and unusual color options, and black is sooo hot; the steering wheel, what were they thinking? See lots of perished rubber. And who runs one of these without air filters? The Nigerian carpets are not to my taste either. But if it's got no rust as he says, then the rest is small potatoes. What % of coupes have NO rust? 5%?

Scary wood. Reminds me of the Johnny Carson "soap opera"- The Edge of Wetness...

Not to be overly critical of the seller's sale, but the dash and cluster shots are a fright wig. (Pot to kettle confidential) The photo filters just make it more lurid and the spilled stain droplets don't help. Clearly he spent good money on the required rust items noted etc. and some other things took a back seat. If the rust really is at bay, the interior is a buyer's opportunity.

This from the seller on the BaT listing...

"...Then I purchased my e9 in 2004, followed by an 1980 633 CSi, an 85 635CSi, a 1973 3.0 S 3.3 liter five-speed (keeping), a 2016 X1 and my daily driver, a 1986 Mercedes 380 SE."

Smart man...he's keeping the E3 :)

Hey Erik, I agree. Are you pretty confident that the rust is at bay?
