There is a round knockout that you can kind of see in the third picture above the two rectangular openings . There is also another knockout next to the round opening that is partially obscured by the green foam foam I bought a few pieces from a BMW parts store that closed in 1992 . It has been bagged up since then . Not perfect but considering its age , it is pretty nice.Interesting version of the panel: a single hole for the hazard light switch, none for the front and rear foglight switches, but two fuse openings for the electric windows. Might be a part for the USA version. Panels for German and most cars had at least two round holes, hazard lights and (standard) rear foglight. Seems in great condition.
The two round holes on the right side of US versions were filled with hazard and rear window defogger.Interesting version of the panel: a single hole for the hazard light switch, none for the front and rear foglight switches, but two fuse openings for the electric windows.
