Purchased the car from a guy in Sioux Falls He said he had it for three years and drove it regularly. He got it from a "collector" in Colorado. Some one was doing work but it wasn't the PO i got it from. I have begun some basic dismantling of the interior. The trunk contained various parts to include:
a) two new rear Bilstein sport shocks;
b) four new door seals, one for each
c) front turn signal seals
d) two cv boots,new;
e) various belts, filters and bags of nuts, screws, clamps ;
f) two Zenith carbs, one of which is COMPLETELY disassembled. I mean, I have never seen so many parts and pieces. Must have taken hours just to take it apart. Got to be worthless, except for parts.

I had some meager hope that the bags with the seals contained front or rear windshield gaskets, but alas, no.

So the car looks really good and most everything is there. Here are pics to judge for yourself.

If it truly is near flawless, that's about half the usual price for them.

The downside is that it's from a later E3 with the cut out for the "fasten seat belt" light.

Can always put a gauge pod where that cut out is. That's what I did w/my 2002.

That's cool. I emailed the seller. Shipping may be an issue but no reply yet. Polyvance makes some great products for dash repair and filling.

Restoration begins in the trunk.

All linings present but in bad shape. Cardboard all broken and missing tabs. Rear light cover broken in half and missing tabs and ends. Shock covers falling to pieces, missing ends and curved pieces.(do they make thinner plastic that's more brittle?) Luckily, the left had what the right was missing and vice versa so i was able to copy,guess. Everytime I touched them to make repair, they cracked more. After great pains and much time, they are whole, fit well, much stronger and ready to paint. Cardboard pieces solid and sending to OIL to be covered.
Light cover lost all rubberized paint.

Work continues and time has no meaning, to what end, only the E3 god knows.
Parts at the Chromer(gasp), powder coater, brake restorer, cv axel doer, heater core restorer and starter, alternator and windshield wiper motor at Snap electronics.
Starter ect. and cv axles ready, will post pics when I pic up tues. heater core $75. They said it was dirty, go figure. This week dropped the rear subfame to take to the powder coater. Messed with the e-brake thingies which were missing some pieces.One of the little steel dowels was gone and one of the rivets? found an old screwdriver
fit exactly the missing dowel, swivel thing fixed, screwdriver now a ? something useful i'm sure.
Am officially DONE with the radiator reservoir, long hours on the front grills. Decided to do the trim myself. MUCHO time but fun. Just can't get that POP shine. Chrome guy says is some factory stuff which he can't do. Did not do the connecting pieces so you can see the diff. Major pitting on all pieces. Looked like it got hit with a shotgun.
The chrome grill motif is apparently not duplicable, and I looked and could find no vehicle using that grill, so they got sanded(PITA) and will be black. Did the 2800 badge as well. Any more pitting and it would not be there.
Broke one of the flexible sheet metal grasping things(looks like it wants a hug). Guess i will make another.

Actually got parts back today! picked up the starter, alt. and wiper motor, Beautiful work. Dropped off rear subframe at Powder Keg and gas tank was blasted and ready.
Got Cv joints. Cleaned up E-brake cables. Rec'd box from W&N with stuff but had splurged on the head light surrounds, which is really the only rusted away part on the vehicle. Likely could have just done nothing but blast and paint as not structual.
Still a looong way from anywhere.
