Can anyone confirm that the internals from the later 188mm medium lsd diff that was found in many bm's mostly E30, E36, E28, and late E24 etc, can be used in the later version of the side loader diff, that had slide out flanges, and was used in the E12 and early E24 (pre conversion to e28 underpinnings).
I have a late sideloader, planning on converting to lsd, and given 188mm medium lsd diffs, from say the e28, seem to be more easily avaliable, with lots of gearing options, and reco parts (along with aftermarket lsd carriers), I am thinking of buying one of them, and having it rebuilt into the sideloader.
Any thoughts?
Should I go straight to Mario at VSR1 , and ask him?
