Folks have been working on this car for 3 years. Almost done just needs Weber carbs bolted in, windows roped in and new AC / heat installed ! Was originally building for my own collection but would like to sell as is or finish it for "you" have new 16 inch Alpina wheels and front under bumper spoiler ready to mount

Engine had 180 psi compression on all cylinders last we checked. All new bare metal paint in original Polaris Silver, under in outside, sound deadening, custom bright red leather interior, all new wood, dash recovered with "M" color stich to match door handles, shift boot etc.

Can give you quote to finish like pictures or completely stock ?

Haven’t you been trying to sell this car in an unfinished state the entire time? It doesn’t seem like it was ever intended to be part your collection.

Adding photos for when the google drive link dies this week:

No has always been a car building for myself but now have to many personal cars and need space. Car does have all new floor pans with expensive sound deadening insulation ! Work in progress pics included ! Only corrosion on car was pans as water had gotten in car through broken glass. A Texas car no salt road problems. Pans all replaced with new. No rust on strut towers will have to look more closely on finish work there might deserve some additional detailing had plans to do more to engine bay when we did final carb etc. work on engine. As you know the stock coupes have the shock towers wrapped on top in a heavy insulation material

Have not finished this car as we always give customer cars priority. In terms of finishing we know some prefer car all stock and some prefer with front spoiler, CSL like side stripe , we have brand new Alpina wheels but some prefer stock that are on car, can use orig carbs or weber manifold w Weber carbs. Car even has new OEM ignition switch installed, all new wood kit, new leather interior, custom suede liner black interior. Some prefer modern heat and air some prefer stock so car at juncture for a final owner to make final decisions

We can finish in a couple of weeks or a new Coupe enthusiast can finish to exact look and feel they prefer

Is a very nice coupe. Does not have corrosion issues, engine issues, electrical all works, all parts there don't need to buy anything (I know of). To me for talented DIY that knows CS couples but wants something they can get involved with can do final options in a few weekends. Probably hardest thing left to do is rope in rubber seals and lock strips on front and back glass. Front windshield is new ! We have just waited till very end to mount glass

Cheers

yikes ... these pictures tell a story that nobody has to use any critical words / comments to describe. there are no words that can try to make these images palatable. @tferrer i think you are spot on

Half the pics in the google drive are of other peoples's cars. I did the same thing when doing my two E9s as I often saw things or styling I liked and wanted for my restoration mood board. That said, using them to promote your own car for sale is potentially misleading.
Really don't want to take pot shots at somebody else's work but cant get this out of my mind..

I dont think leaving bits and pieces of the original sound insulation and then painting over it is a good idea. Does one assume that if it did not crumble and fall off on its own, that what's below is solid? Quite and assumption.

There is NOTHING not done right on this car. If you see some "in progress" pictures that is what building a car is there is "in progress"
Current state of car. It is a 2800 in final stages of assembly and I have shared a few pics of work since it was started. Original car was rust free except for floor pans where water and gotten in through a rolled down window. All pans were replaced with OEM,

- A paint job taken down to bare metal and primer, coated in expensive epoxy primer for protection built back up with urethane primer, blocked and painted. All doors, interior, glass, hood removed painted outside car
- new red leather interior
- new sound deadening, custom black carpet
- custom suedeliner black headliner
- new floor pans
- complete original trim in A to A- condition
- re-chromed bumpers
- full compression orig engine runs perfectly
- new glass
- new OEM ignition switch
- new wood trip
- recovered dash with m stitch

The pictures of the "other cars" are there to make final decisions on
front chin spoiler, Alpina wheels, side stripes of which all are in stock ready to install depending on whether someone wants a totally stock look or a modified look as per a couple of the pictures. New carbs and manifold available

the other pics not of this car were example red interior and the red interior build and installed for this car is actually nicer with orig seats, chrome trim reconditioned all functioning

When done this car will be very nice. It is already very nice. IT IS NOT DONE. Work left to do is all based on final preferences. This is often the position like to purchase a car as they can tailor the car in very short time to be exactly finish look they prefer. Orig car low mileage, no corrosion, no accident damage

"The trolls who have never gotten their hands dirty truly building a car wine and makeup stories that have no basis in reality or experience methink "

Our best clients are the ones who have actually tried before - themselves or have tried piece parting work out to dozens of various trades who cannot synchronize their time efforts.

We are by no means perfect but offer a high value, complete service with 100% transparency and integrity !

This is an excellent car that gives nearly anyone ability to have us or themselves to the final 10% of features and have a very nice rare CS coupe in exactly finish they desire

Oh come on, you're fooling no one.
It's your description of your car that has no basis in reality.
The photos show that whoever 'restored' the car didn't have much experience in restoring cars.

Gransin, car is in progress. No one here trying to fool anyone. When someone posted just pics of just finished car that is less transparency This E9 mostly done but new owner can tweak final look / features! Only nonsense posted here is the floor pans covered by sound deadening, carpet don't look like a finished outside of car ? Only issue here is some of old glue residual. All that was ground out and then heavy butyl rubber glued in along with carpet pad.

here is pic with sound deadening

new carpet, new sound system

new red leather interior done, new refurbished OEM wood steering wheel, dash, wood trim

let me see your work ?

We are not perfect but produce quality product for clients. All of them happy here are a few examples

these are a few of 300 cars built from ground up last 10 years. Majority are classic BMW's but many restomod fastback mustangs, classic trucks, and others

Please show my your portfolio off your perfect work and list of happy customers who built cars to their specs with solid equity in the cars

Talk is cheap, being a troll seems to be in fashion but in reality making things building things is a process. I am showing a bit of the process and will post final car when done for us or for client.

The finished product on this coupe will meet or exceed any buyers expectations based on their budget. All done to date on car has been done very nicely

I think it is time to find another venue for your coupe, you are the one trolling our members here who have much more experience with e9s including full restorations. Your in process build pics show incredibly shoddy workmanship. Those floor panels have crude welds to fill the gaps with your aftermarket, not OEM, panels. The outer rocker looks equally horrible as does the inner fender tops, @Markos has captured your own pics that show consistently poor workmanship. Those pics show freshly painted surfaces and not a work in process as you claim. To my eyes at least you have applied the proverbial lipstick to a pig in search of a customer, please move on.

Don’t listen to the haters. That is a VERY impressive and undoubtedly realistic number of ground up builds. Your shop has been turning out 2.5 cars a month for 10 years straight! You must have a ton of staff because most restoration shops can’t come anywhere close to this number. It is no wonder that you haven’t been able to complete this car since your first listed it 5 years ago on CL.

@Markos, I think you get the general idea ! Thankyou ! We have 5 full time staff and about a dozen other specialists for key areas from engine, glass, upholstery etc. We founded our business to bring the cost of having a nice appreciating collectable car more affordable and less of a headache to build. We handle all for clients (car, parts, work, coordination etc.) and generally build cars for a fraction of what most others quote. Often a fixed cost for most of the work. We don't just build show cars or daily drives we build what our clients want and their budget often dictates the level.

We also realize building a nice coupe is closer to building an exotic Ferrari then a 2002 or classic Mustang. Thus we picked this one that had nearly 100% of all parts, no corrosion (after floor pans replaced) and selected a look we thought was in top of looks. We have taken our time and do have it available but have not actually promoted it much as intention has been to keep and use it to refine our new AC system, bumper systems, trim, dashes, upholstery we have developed for coupes. We recently picked up a near perfect euro 71 CS we are doing a big engine swap in so this is more available then it was before.

@HB Chris (moderator) not sure who you are but welcome you call us and we discuss what and how we do builds 214 352 0868 and I think we could win you over. You seem to be phobic what is done under carpet and sound deadening on floor pans. Those are reproductions of OEM floor pans, absolutely no rust, and are properly welded in. Just because there is paint on floor does not mean there was not more refinement as installing sound deadening and carpet, seats, stereo etc.. I agree the pics of the inner rocker looks "uneven" but part of that is just lighting and angle of pic, there is no corrosion there and was further modified before outer rocker covers were installed. As you know these inners do not show at all on finished car. Will take pics of latest work on car and include in Google album this week. There is also pics of the out covers painted ready to be installed on car.

As I have stated this car can be finished with care to just be a good B+ car or can be finished to be a A+ restomod. You all know that last 10% can sometimes be more then 10% of the work depending on desired use. Show car or Donut and Ice Cream getter with the kids. I can assure anyone they would not be disapointed with this car either way.

Finish yourself in your garage or have us or have "Santa and his elves" finish it. All the hard work done

Glad some of the shoddy work is covered with lots of butyl rubber, what you don't see doesn't exist, right?

My work can be found pretty easily on this forum, but trolls barging in here these days doesn't usually care much about other members or this forum and the knowledge it contains in general. The important thing for these seems to be to jump in, beat their chest and talk, talk, talk (yes, cheap talk) about how great their work/product/car is while calling all the long time members and experts diffrent things. The trolls goal is of course just to find an unsuspicious buyer for their work/product/car.

My work isn't perfect, great or even mediocre when it comes to real restorations, that's why I don't write such things about my work or coupe either.

Why do people think that you need to be an accomplished mechanic to critique the quality of a restoration? Food critics aren’t Michelin star chefs, and movie critics aren’t Oscar winning directors. As a novice, I can look at a booger weld and tell you if it was laid by an amateur. I can tell you that a weld of stacked dimes is generally a sign of an accomplished craftsman. I can look at fresh paint over poorly sanded body filler and tell if it was half assed.

@Gransin, you have always been quite humble about your CS build. Despite your demeanor, I am confident that you can identify top tier work as well as low end of that spectrum.
