Yes I would consider it and they look nicer but being a '72 I wonder if I should stick to what style was there?

Steve, i will look to see if i still have a spare chrome one. i might ... how good it is maybe a fair question ... but a little work and some new chrome might be a good approach. i will look tomorrow
The chromed brass 2800 CS center panel is the way to go. Aluminum panel has was sold, March 2021.

unfortunately Steve, my chrome one is gone ... i only found the aluminum one with holes for the license plate lights. SORRY. somebody please help Steve find one.
There's one on eBay currently, that looks like it needs to be re-chromed.
