Bigger Wheels

16 Alpina alloys can be found in the UK, starting price ie
1500 need full Refurb
2000, good presentable condition
2500 mint ones
Whereabouts in the UK, or is it just a case of looking on eBay?
If you can could you post some pictures of your car with 16" alpina's so I can compare, thanks.

The profiles are really different….. they both look period correct but the Pirelli‘s look ultra cool! View attachment 133335View attachment 133336
They definitely do. Lot of the early 911 guys around here will run the Pirelli or Avons which are super sticky but wear out quickly but these cars don't get miles piled on so they likely time out before they wear out anyway...

These are the 16” Alpina staggered wheels. Front are 7” with 205/55/16, rear are 8” with 225/50/16

It is my understanding that these "classic" tires look good but do not shed water when driving in the rain.
We try to avoid the rain but sometimes you just cannot
I run BF Goodrich radial T/A 225 x 6 x 14 on the Great White
Michelin makes BF Goodrich

I run the 16" staggered set up, as I think they look great. I don't have rolled fenders or camber plates. I do have very slight glancing of the tyres but only would happen with aggressive driving or flying over speed bumps. I have decided to live with it without camber plates or rolling fenders, because one day I might put back my 14" original CSL rims.

Furthermore, it has been suggested by some to roll the fenders when going for a 16" set up, however I don't believe it is plausible to roll both the fenders and the silver trim arch on a CSL as the trim would distort. (Would love to know if anyone has actually done this).

I have 14x7 Alpina wheels with 195 70 michelins, CN lowering springs and fixed camber plates, with Bilstein dampers and when doing a 3 point turn the tyre will grab the fender lip if the front bounces, say from stabbing brakes or hitting a steep driveway in the process. Hasn't been an issue in any other scenario (so far). I have arch trims so rolling the lips is out, and the stance is just how I like it. Having done it once is enough motivation to avoid doing it again.
