Hi,
Does anyone have a tested or new auxiliary air or air slide valve for sale. As best I can tell the BMW p/no. is 11611255284, Bosch p/no. 0280140018.
I'm not sure but maybe Bosch 0280140036 or 0280140019 might work.
Thank you,
Seán.

They are available but over 500 USD is common to see. I bought a NOS -263 200 (140 036) which operates and looks exactly the same... Still rare but another option

Thank you, unfortunately I have not been able any of the versions.

Put it in boilng water, you should see the valve close, like a normal coolant thermostat. Let me know. Thank you, Chris.

Hi Chris,
Did you have any chance to check the valve yet, thank you, Seán.

Make sure you understand how to take apart without breaking.
you will need instructions if you haven’t done before.
and a torch.

Unfortunately, I do not have any instructions, I have looked. I was going to try to 'suck it and see' and 'hope for the best'.
Can you offer any suggestions. Than you, Seán.

Hi there,
After reading several threads and comparing to my car's "symptoms", it seems that I need a new, or a repaired AAV.
I have seen that you offer repairs, or even complete ones. Is that still the case today?
If so, I would be glad to get one from you, because I don't feel too much confident buying from ebay from God knows who...
Thank you.

I give my AAVs to Hermann Ebner/Austria.
He overhauls them with new thermostat.
He also overhauls the air filters.
Thank you Tom. Is this Sir, Hermann Ebner a member here? Or should I just google his name to find him?
My AAV seems not completely stuck. I suspect the sliding piston to move, but very slowly, and perhaps get stuck in random positions. Is it easy to try to clean it up ? I have read somewhere that if the expanding product inside is not damaged or gone, then cleaning up may help, at least temporarily.
(Not related but reminds me how sticky the grease was on all my windows mechanisms I cleaned up last summer...)

.....boiling water is not a good idea, the wax may expand too much and leak.
Put it in the fridge for an hour and then slowly heat up the element in water. Observe the movement of the valve.
Of course you should clean it first, but never use force (e.g. by using a screw driver) trying to move the slider.

I will forward the contact of Hermann Ebner to you (later)
