Anyone know, or have a flashlight for the tool tray or know where to get one. Also would like to find a tool roll, and the little "z" too. I am not above a knock off recommendation for the flash light

I want the flashlight in the clamshell tool kit- Sorry for the confusion

I don't know of a tool roll for an E9. By "little Z tool" do you mean the valve adjustment tool? If so, @Bert Poliakoff makes an excellent reproduction.

Heyco actually does make, or rebrand, flashlights. Not quite small enough to swap into the insulator spot in the tool kit though.

I think he means the flash light that was mounted in the fuse box lid / area.

Someone was refurbing them into led and modern Battery. I just don't remember who...
My E31 have a flash light but it is in comportment glove box that it is not working

This is interesting. I agree that a flashlight would be a much better alternative to the plug insulator in the kit. I also don't see a need for the 3 spark plugs (why 3 and not 2 or 6 or better yet 0?). What would others eliminate from the factory tool kit and what is missing that would actually be used if it was there?

Well a button to summon Hagerty to take my car home would be a start. Not that I believe I would ever need it, of course. But a nice safety blanket. Or a Skip the Dishes button, to deliver a picnic, once all settled in at the beach. Flashlight, well OK. But I have one next to my umbrella already.

Eliminate the 3 hex wrenches, can anyone tell me other than the sway bar, what uses a hex bolt on these cars?

I'd keep one plug and one insulator out of respect for Murphy's Law. I think a nice pair of vintage needle nose pliers/wire cutters would be a good replacment for the other plugs/insulators/hex wrenches.
