What size spare fits in the trunk / boot

Do I remember that the e24 well is an inch deeper?, or did I dream that? I bought one, cut from an e24, and sold it with another e9 a couple of years back (it went with the car), and I didn't ever check the validity of the claim. And I've slept since then...

i think that is correct Dave. i think some people have used it to deepen the coupe spare tire well.

You slept well? What if the deeper one was used to fit a well known Saudi journalist out of their Turkish embassy?

I just use the original 14” wheel with a tire that provides the same circumference as the 16” wheels.
I have done the same thing but there are two other alternatives. First, there are thin space saving spares that have worked in the past. I recall seeing an E9 using such a space saver on a front axle. I also observed this on an E9 being prepped for paint. The examples were likely from a Mercedes, but that is just a guess. Obviously, the bolt pattern has to be correct and equally important, the rim must have enough area to clear the brake calipers. The second alternative is my least favorite, but I recall watching someone deflating his spare tire trying to gain enough space for the trunk board covering the spare. I inquired what he was trying to accomplish and he explained that the spare fit when slightly deflated, and that he carried a 12V mini-compressor when and if the spare was needed.

here is an 8x16 alpina that I had cut down to 6x16. You could use a 6.5” wheel with a narrow tire. You’ll just have to raise the floor boards a 1/2” and adjust the size to fill in the gaps at the fenders.
Hello, do you know what size of tire will feed on 16X9.5" wheel

Hi , my bbs rc090’ s are 17”x 8 and they apparently need 225 45 17 on the front and apparently can have 245 40 17 on the rear.
I have not yet fitted them with tyres yet so I have not actually fitted them to the car yet.

Yours are obviously wider than mine.@. 9.5” so honestly I am not even sure yours will fit , ( for you I hope they do )
My rim on the inside without any spacers misses the front shock by approximately 6 mm, and I might need to roll the wing / fender lip on the outside, I will know more about that when I actually fit them onto the car.
At the rear , I believe clearance is good also , except you need to be careful as the inside of the tyre can foul / rub against the exhaust muffler/ silencer . ( which is obviously a no no !! )
Good luck, and let us know how you get on !

i may be wrong, perhaps BBS made more sizes that i am aware of, but my understanding was that bbs rc090's were 17" wheels. they were available as 8" and 9". 9" are very rare.

Hello my friend, my wheels are not a BBS it is Epsilon 16X8.5 and 16X9.5 and it is 3 pieces and I can play with it like I can make the front one 8" and back 10" just change the lip with one another cense one is deeper than other if 8.5 is to wide for front I can make it 8" but I dont know if 10" will work with back
