I recently had the pleasure of re-uniting with the original owner of my 2800CS Ron Wakefield.

He owned several E9 but still regrets selling his '73 3.0 on BAT. He has asked me to use the brain trust of the forum to see if he can track down the current owner of the 3.0CS he sold on bring a trailer many years ago. The serial number is 22404593 and I did not find it in the registry. Any help in reuniting the two would be appreciated.

Here is the link to BAT

”22404593“ is too many numbers. Should be seven digits not eight.

It sold again on BAT three years later for $78k in Charleston SC.
Correct VIN 2240593
I’m always surprised at the number of coupes not in the registry. It’s a conundrum.

We have a user that is a potential match to that BaT username that was awaiting confirmation since 10/2020. I approved and sent a password reset

I’m still not sure why people get stuck in the approval process.

I’m sure BaT would provide contact info since he was a customer and is so well known. [email protected]

I met Ron at the La Jolla Concours when he still had this coupe. Murray Fowler was with me as well and Ron was judging our class.

Hey folks - I am the owner of Ron's 3.0CS - it's a fantastic car - true time capsule - I have been taking great car of it - been doing quite a bit of work - rebuild the brakes, new temp sensor, fuel pump, new points, plugs, tires etc., and currently repairing a rust area underneath. I will drop Ron line - as has been a couple years i think since connected - fear not his car is very well cared for and drives great.

Mistake was not fat fingers. BAT listing had an 8 digit VIN.

I know the guy at BaT that entered the description. Everyone makes typos from time to time. It doesn’t mean their fingers are fat!

Hey guys - sorry for my tardy replies. Life is busy (one year old baby). I will be more active with the group - have always loved the coupes and thrilled to drive this one. I will drop Ron an email on weekend or yes please message me privately Ron's number. @Markos looks like issue was on my side vis vis the membership email - apologies took so long. Here now and thanks for accepting me.

Hey folks - I just wrote Ron an email and assured him that his baby (E9) is being treated very well indeed! Let him know some of the considered maintenance items currently doing. Thanks for reaching out. I will get a bit more active in the club - awesome to see so many great cars and those equally passionate on E9's! Regards - Neil
