E9 values are unfounded and on shaky ground

Have to agree on the silver one, I can see a color difference on passenger side front fender and possibly on the driver's side rear quarter plus the style line doesn't look that crisp on either side. At the kind of money (even 75K less), I would expect flawless body work.

Nothing is more expensive than a cheap project!
We have a saying here. "If it farts, f**ks or floats, then you only smile on the day you get it and on the day you get rid of it" Pertains to horses, mistresses and boats. Prices for E9s here are lot less than in the US but then it seems a lot of things are of much higher value in the US compared to the rest of the world. Look at the Tesla Market Cap.

lots of project cars on the market. Is that an indicator of economic struggles? Those that are giving up these cars will likely never be able to afford a finished one, so they are selling their last shot at an e9.

Could be a realization that the return on restoration investment, on a standard e9, is not there in the current market. I’ve decided not to have mine painted. I know that there is some bondo present and once the car is striped I’m sure it would open a can of worms that would send the costs to well over $50K.
Anyway I Iike the lack of rust and driver quality of my coupe and if I said it’s never seen rain I’d be lying.
But hey, we love e9’s for their looks, build quality and the way they drive, not because they’re a great investment. It’s still nice to know that they’re appreciating in value.
Also, rusty e9’s are not easy cars to restore. More so I think than a comparable 911, though I’m no expert. I think 911’s are still appreciating.
912s and even 914s are basking in the glow of 911s.
I could be all wet. But it’s not currently rain in Portland
