This happened backwards, I wanted to post here first letting forum members know my coupe would be listed for sale soon. Life got in the way of that plan. Due to unforeseen family and financial situations it is best that I put this up for sale. I know I could have listed this in other venues, BAT, Ebay and others, that's not my style. I have worked on too many great Ebay "deals" in my life that turned into nothing but problems for the Buyer's. I would rather have a conversation with any and all interested party's and real prefer someone to look at the car with their own eyes or a representative of their choice.
If you would like more info you can send me a message and I will reply.
Thanks, Ed

Nice car if it's the one I think it is (I looked on craigslist) - lots of the nice upgrades. Can you post a link :)

Hi, Today I found out some more info on the 3.0. This car was owned by a dairy farmer in Fremont Ca. He was not the original owner, he had it for about 15 years, about the last 5 sitting in a repair shop. He wanted the wood done in a different color, that was never done. That is when it's off the road time started. From what I was told he liked to fix up his car and he had quite a few different cars. This was the owner that did all the upgrades to the car. He also had the engine rebuilt with performance upgrades, I have not confirmed the upgrades. The cylinder head has a date stamp from 1980, so it is a newer head. It does run well, no engine problem's.
Also today I had the exhaust replaced, a muffler bracket broke and the exhaust was dragging and it ground a hole in the pipe. It's hard to find the right parts for this so I had the whole system replaced from the headers back. Not OE parts. A local muffler shop did the work.
I'm hoping to get to the DMV for a title history check tomorrow.
I'm on vacation this week, I think I'm done with the "honey do's" so I can do some thing I want to and that includes adding pictures. I will be going to SFDon's to pick up a distributor for the car.

Regards,
Ed

Ed - I'm sorry that life has conspired to force you to sell your car so soon. I know your membership on the forum has been brief, but I think your engagement quickly built goodwill and interest among the members. That and the fact that @sfdon is in your corner should put you in a good position in terms of selling your car and getting help from all the knowledgable members here in doing so.

That said, things are a bit confusing right now. I think there are at least two threads going about your car: this one and one created by @eddiewho that you replied to earlier today.

Can you confirm that this is the listing for your car?

If so, can @Markos, @dang or @HB Chris collapse the various threads relating to the ad into just this one? That way you (Ed) would own all the threads, which hopefully would be beneficial to you.

Dan - I can confirm that that listing is Ed's car. I sent Ed a message asking for additional information on his car. He replied to my initial message, and today sent exactly the same information he posted in response to the other thread.

A single, combined thread on this car would make sense.

Hi, Thanks for helping move my post, rookie mistake.
I plan on staying with the forum, I feel it is helping me go full circle in life. I can remember going to the port in SF to pick new cars, we would pick up 4 or 5 cars and drive them back to Weber Motors. How cool was that for a 17 year old kid. It could be a Coupe, tii or just a 2002. Or picking up Dorothy in front of San Leandro High School and giving her a ride home, while on a "test drive", I impressed the hell out of her Dad.
Thanks Ed

Great story, Nice car!

Hi, Thanks for the help and comments. I sold the car today, the buyer is somebody who will be a great owner for it. Did I get 60k for it, nope, I was pretty sure I wouldn't. If you start low you can't go up. I did get an amount that I'm happy with and didn't hurt the value of any other coupe out there. I even got to keep the H&B wheels as he had his own wheels for it.
I will miss it, but because of the old coupe it brought me back to an old friend I lost touch with, can you say SFDon, I'm happy about that. I have a feeling that in a few months I will be more involved with these old cars then I ever thought. I'm looking forward to that.
Thanks, Ed

Theres a line a mile long for those wheels...

Aw the H&B's. As of now they are still on the car. The ownership change should happen this weekend. Once off I will give them a good once over to check there overall condition. From there, what exactly do I want to do with them? Kinda a nice problem to have.

I think you should save them to use on your next E9. You know you will purchase another one. Just be patient and let the car come to you! Then put those awesome wheels on it. ;) And show us photos!

You do what any man has to do when he has a wife and two dogs and property taxes to pay….
Drop ‘‘em off in Alameda!

Kidding.
There’s no hurry on those wheels- it’s not the money- it’s having them go on the best car for the wheels.

I have 3 black coupes at Monterey next week and they all have Hardy and Beck wheels.

Right car- right wheel is everything.

YOU pick the car- the owner- the money will follow.
