I'm interested in the books. I have a 2000CS in Hawaii. Please get me a total, including shipping to Hawaii. I'll use PayPal "Friends and Family" so there's no receiving fees to you. Thank you. Robert P. Smith, PO Box 363, Volcano, Hawaii 96785 USA

Just a reminder that when these books are shipped make sure to tell the Postal Clerk that the package contains reading material so that the cost of shipping will be much lower than if it contained something other than reading material.

The phrase here in the US is "Media Mail". Unfortunately, there are restrictions on what media is acceptable. Loose leaf pages and their binders are limited to medical information.
"Loose-leaf pages and their binders consisting of medical information for distribution to doctors, hospitals, medical schools, and medical students."
However, it's unlikely these days that they will have time to inspect the package though I've heard of it happening in the past. If it feels like a book...
Here's the link for the USPS.com page. https://about.usps.com/notices/not121/not121_tech.htm

But, the seller is in Canada and while they do have a Publications Mail rate, it's for periodicals & newsletters.

Items that do not qualify as Publications Mail:
Handbooks and manuals, including their amendments.
Street, telephone or other directories. See exceptions.
Catalogues.
Annual reports.

And with a smaller population to spread costs over, some services can be a lot more expensive than in the US. For example, cell phone service is very dear.

I'd get a firm quote on shipping to Hawaii before sealing the deal. When I lived on Maui, USPS was the best deal going. It was far less than the other shipping options. Except for Apple service parts, which were $6.95 for any size box with 2-day service via FedEx anywhere in the US. I guess when you do the volume that Apple does, you get a bargain rate. Realistically probably supported by ordinary shippers who pay the premium rates..... but I digress.

The books are going to California and the Canada Post rate is not bad - $45.50 CDN for a package of over 10 lbs! And price included tracking. But I imagine the price to HI would have been significantly more.
