It might be more helpful if you clarified exactly what you are trying to accomplish. Is this to access a specific part or to restore something like the woodwork?

These threads may keep you busy:

dear sir
first of all thank you for your kind answer, I will take a look to that links, :-D

your are so right, I would like to apologize for my non very precise request

the aim of the dissasembly is:

1- renew the wood parts, the wood itself is not in bad condition but the varnish is cracked
2- dismount the instruments, with two speific goals:

2a) fix the clock or install a new one (is not working at all)
2b) the odometer is not working, nor the speedometer, I think it might have something to do with the gears of the mechanism...

and that is all, so maybe with this more specific information you might conduce me through the right path

I have experience in dissasembling the steering wheel, and the lower part of the covers of the steering wheel ( i am able to reach the electrical connectors in the lower left side of the dashboard (my car is LHD)

warmest regards

Note that you can remove the instruments without taking much apart other than the kick panel. Some of the threads cover that and if you need help I have done it twice.

There is also a good thread on clock repair, there are one or two fault mechanisms of the mechanical clock that are easy to fix.

The odometer/speedo could be either the instrument or the cable, specially if both of them broke at the same time.

Now, if you figure out how to fix varnish cracks in place I can use that.

thank you very much

I have been taking a look to the threads mentioned by nashvillecat, and basically the information I found (consider that some of the links are not working anymore) makes me reluctant to remove everything

I am interested in removing the instruments in order to check them and fix or replace what is not working, so if you know a easy way. I would appreciate if you can give me advice on that.

Yes, I have the info about repairing the clock, but now the most important thing is to fix de speedometer, I agree that can be the cable or the mechanism, but to be sure I would like to check it with the parts in may hands

regarding the cracks in varnish i don´t really know how to proceed, not now but for sure I will try some solutions to check results, I will maintain you informed if I suceed.

best regards
