So, do you have them available for E3s or just E9s ? You didn’t mention it in the other thread today, but saw this and thought I’d ask.

I’m guessing the shift console and some of the underlying components are a bit different.
 
I share what we do at our shop- rarely do we sell parts. We sell for dirt cheap or give away excess inventory to keep the shop clean.
There is a shift platform on ebay last I checked.

Yeah, it’s just pretty rusty. Guess I can clean it and spray it.

So, works for E3 and not just for E9? Wondering if tunnel shapes or other things are different.

This would be easier if I was back in the Bay Area and could just drop it off with you.
 
Same shift platform for E3 and E9. I think what Don is saying is to grab that one on eBay. They’re really rare and you might only use the sheet metal part of it if you end up putting together a short shift linkage.

Don't let some rust deter you. It can be cleaned up with a rust-eating product such as Evapo-Rust. There are similar products that might cost less. They are not an acid, but are targeted to work on iron oxide alone. Certainly, if the polished parts are too corroded, that might be an issue, but that rust doesn't look too bad. If you leave the steel in the solution for too long (hours or overnight) it can turn unrusted steel grey, but I've never had too much trouble with that.

That day was a great C&C in Austin with the vintage BMW group. Hope to see you at the Texas 02berfest in November.

Yeah, suppose I can also just get it media blasted and then powder coated. There is a place in Austin good for small parts (they mostly do motorcycle stuff).
 
Thank you, I managed to find one through a contact here in Germany. The one from the ebay link looks like a support from a 4-speed if compared to mine. It's missing the characteristic two-hole tail, right?
