I had a sticking brake on a rear wheel, along with a moaning sound when warm which immediately ceased when I pressed the brake, even very slightly.

I took the pads out and they were different. The image tell the story.

The one on the right is nothing like any which I have seen for sale. Any ideas? I will rebuyild them but all pads on the rear have the same part number and look like the one on the left.

From the photo it looks like the one on the right has been damaged and could have looked like the one on the left?

Hi there
It looks like someone might have put in one of these front brake pads at some time ( maybe)

They look normal to me. I think I pulled a set of those out of an E12 or E24. I’ve done brakes on Volvos with pads from other manufacturers that had the hook-looking bit instead of a hole for the pin. I think functionally they’re just fine.
