Hi, my right hand arm rest upper piece has broken on my E9. I suspect it was already broken and previously repaired and I've completely destroyed it. Does anyone have one spare - prefer dark blue - but I can get it painted if another colour. Or maybe there's somewhere I can get this - I've searched the web and the only ones I can buy are complete sets, so with shipping to New Zealand would cost around $NZ800 (around $US550) - ouch!

I understand the same arm rests are used in E3's so will post in that forum too.

TIA

E3 might not be the same ?

I am not sure about that

Bumping up to the top as my wife was gently (as she said) closing the passenger door this weekend and broke the same armrest part which it seems all passengers break. I need part # 51411815236, for the passenger (right) door. The chrome is fine. I searched all the sources I could find listed in the forums here, including calling Maximilien as suggested above. He said "I don't have them", W&N doesn't have any available, ebay.de doesn't have any and I did find one at BMWPartsDeal which I ordered but then the order was cancelled since they don't actually have the part. Any thoughts?

I always tell anyone getting in the passenger seat to pull on the door release handle and not the armrest.
My old Bavaria (sadly, now gone) had a piece of bent 3/4" wide strap steel, bent into a "Z" shape, linking the pull to the door. My mother-in-law (who sadly, is now also gone) got into the car and figured that since it was an old car, she really needed to give an door a good yank. And, she did!

i have a spare set of black armrests / new black plastic parts - just in case ...
come to think of it, i might have 2 sets of spare armrests and a used set of the plastic parts.
