Hi guys. Arde suggested I re-introduce myself.
I was on this forum back in the 2006-2009 time frame. At that time I was in Los Altos, CA. Moved to Petaluma in 2009. Took a hiatus from car stuff to restore a 1929 wooden boat, and renovate a houseboat (more of a floating home), and a house.
I am finally getting around to restoring my E9. It has been sitting in a garage for the past 15 years or so (driven on and off). Still runs great, but has not really been touched much.
First order of business was to get some new tires. The existing rims are 14", and the tires are totally shot. I decided to get some Maxilite Alpina replica staggered wheels instead of the ratty old 14" rims.
Going with Pilot Sport 4 tires. 205/55/16 on the front, and 225/50/16 on the rear.
This project is only in its early stages. The car is a 1972 3.0 CS. Dual Webers, 4 sp trans. No sunroof, and only one small rusty spot on the aft end of the right rocker. Plan to do a fairly comprehensive renovation on this car. So stay tuned..
I also have a ton of experience with the M90 motor and L-Jet EFI, and BMW electrical systems in general, so, if you have any questions or need help with any of that. drop me a line.
Fun to be back!
Scott
